North American Qualifier for World Pair Go Championships
The World Pair Go Association, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Pair Go, has announced the Pair Go World Cup. It will be held in Hangzhou China, from Saturday March 20th to Tuesday March 23rd. 8 Pairs from Japan, China and Korea will participate, and 8 from the rest of the World. North America will select one pair. Professional's are eligible to represent North America, assuming they have North American Citizenship, and meet CGA/AGA requirements for international selection. The AGA will organize a joint qualifying tournament on behalf of the the AGA & CGA. Both members of a pair must be from the same country.
The prizes are substantial, ranging from JPY 100,000 for first round losers, to 4,000,000 JPY for the winners. Airfare, meals, and accommodations will be paid.
Registration Deadline: January 27th, 2010
Interested pairs must register by emailing president@usgo.org. Please include your name, CGA membership numbers, email addresses, and IGS usernames and a statement saying you are eligible (for Canadians this means CGA membership and Canadian Citizenship).
Female players can contact the CGA(email president@go-canada.org), asking for help finding a partner if desired.
