Here are a few of the player comments:
I'm excited about the event. Fabulous idea. I am in. What a fantastic idea. I'm in for sure. If this gets going that would be great. I am in. Good idea. I enjoy it. This is cool. I'm in. Sounds like fun. It is a great initiative. One of the biggest problems is the lack of rated CGA events and this completely solves that problem. Arcin Instituting Canadian league play is an historic step, actually a monumental event in the Canadian go world. I commend you for your work in this. I'm sure that if it is not already happening in the U.S. and Europe, this Canadian model will soon be emulated. Norman Chadwick, 6 d, (Vancouver) This league-play is the best thing that has happened to Go since internet Go started and the traditional Go clubs went into decline. (Note: It is our hope that the leagues help promote Go Clubs. Chuck) The internet encourages fast play but a move should take lots of time. This league allows you to play a slow game by appointment! This is so cool! Let’s tell the world about this. Get everyone to call it Canadian League Internet Go (CLIG). Let’s tell the world about CLIG! Bob Halstead (Toronto) This CGA league is way better than a regular tournament. Alexandre (Quebec) This league is the best tournament I've ever played. All opponents are at the same level, and all games are close. Everyone has some chance for first place, and has to fight to not drop. Such games are more fun, and more helpful to improve. Harry Cheng 6 d (Toronto) (Note: It is only a matter of time before all leagues are as close and competitive as the top division. Chuck) To sign up - click here.
