Canadian Open
The Canadian Open is Canada's premier tournament. Held each year in a different Canadian city, it attracts players from across Canada who wish to be selected to represent Canada internationally, or just want to participate in Canada's largest Go tournament. It is held Labour day weekend each year(the first weekend in September).

Host city selection:
At each Canadian Open the hosts for the next years event are selected. If possible the CGA executive should be notified in advance that a city is interested in hosting the open. The executive makes an effort to ensure different parts of the country get turns hosting, but of course we require an interested local organizing group to make that possible.
