The World Mind Sports Games qualifying tournament
This tournament will serve as the Qualifying tournament for the Amateur, Men's Individual, and Men's team events.
Tournament now finished, except for ongoing tie-breaks
The players with 3 wins are holding a tie break.
Tiebreak Round 2:
- James Sedgwick (B) versus Pierre-Olivier Tremblay Monday June 2nd 8:00 PM EST (James + resign)
- Xianyu Li (B) versus Liang Yu Saturday June 7th 11 AM EST (B + 2.5)
Tie break round 1:
- BYE: Liang Yu, Pierre-Olivier Tremblay, Xianyu Li
- Daniel Gourdeau(B) versus James(W) 7:00 PM Saturday May 31st EST (W + resign)
- Minggao will withdraw from the tiebreak, since he does not have time to attend an individual event.
The rules are as follows:
- Games should be played on KGS in the Canadian Room
- Basic time 1 hour, overtime 3 periods of 30 second byo-yomi
- Komi is 6.5
- If feasible the organizer will arrange playoff games for tiebreaks. If not feasible the following conditions are checked in the listed order until the tie is broken ; SODOS (sum of defeated opponents scores), SOS (sum of opponents scores), Head-to-Head Result, and finally coin toss.
- In case of obvious misclicks undos are permitted. The opponent gets to decide if it is an obvious misclick.
- The usual internet rules of no reference materials, no advice apply.
