The CGA will be assembling a team to attend the first World Mind Sports Games to be held in Beijing October 3rd-18nth 2008. IMSA/IGF are finding organizing an event of this size a substantial challenge, and details are constantly changing. We must submit a final team list by June 20th.

For all attendees accomodation will be provided (in the olympic village). The CGA will have one free flight, to be allocated to the top finisher in the qualifying tournament. In addition we may have one free flight for a Pair Go pair.

The latest versions of documents (on the IGF website link below) mentions a fee of about 80$USD/player . The CGA hasn't yet decided what to do about this fee, but players should be aware they might have to cover it.

Chen Shuo(Cathy) Li 1P from Vancouver has offered to attend as an coach/official (she is not yet a citizen). We are planning to accept this offer, I'm sure we will learn a lot from her. As you play the tournament please watch for her on KGS as TigerCathy, she will be looking in and commenting on games as her schedule permits.

For all qualifying tournaments we will use the same time controls as the WMSG will use.

• Pair Go: 45 minutes basic time 3 periods of 30 second byu-yomi
